How to Use Mr. Gray - a Tool for Regulating Exposure When Shooting Tethered
Mr. Gray is a tool for shooting tethered through FLOW. It regulates exposure during your shoot setup.
Adjust the settings for Mr. Gray under the software Preferences > Capture > Mr. Gray tab.
Set your target brightness and tolerance.
Choose your preferred adjustment method - Move Lights or Change Camera F-Stop.
If you'd like an RGB warning, check that box and choose the value that should trigger a warning.
Once your lights are set up and your camera settings are at a good starting point (and your camera is tethered), go to the Capture tab and choose Mr. Gray.
Shoot a gray card and the software will tell you if the image is over or under exposed. Then FLOW will let you know how to resolve the issue by either moving the lights or adjusting the f-stop on your camera
