Border Workshop Part 4 - Modifying an RPL Template

You can also use the Border Workshop to modify and customize Richmond Professional Lab templates. In this example I'll be adding custom text to a button product.
If you prefer a video tutorial, skim all the way to the bottom of the page.
  1. Browse to the template you would like to modify and double click on it. If you need more information on how to install lab templates into the software, refer to this tutorial:

    1. Getting Started Part 3 - Installing Lab Templates

  2. To add text, click Add Text on the left.

    1. Here you can experiment with font, color and size.

    2. When you've chosen some options click OK. The text will appear on your canvas and you can click and drag to reposition it.

    3. The Align tool can be particularly helpful because you can use it to center your text.

  3. Now remember, we are still editing an existing border but we haven't saved any changes yet.

    1. Click on the Border Properties and modify the name in some way. I'm going to rename mine from *8x10 with Text" to "8x10_Text_Blue Graphic".

    2. Copy the border name you choose, and click OK. Then down at the bottom click "Save as New Border". If you click "Save Changes", you'll overwrite your original border with this one.

    3. Save as New Border will prompt you for a border name, and you can paste in the name you just copied.

      1. Now when the software exits the Border Workshop you'll see both borders.

  4. Now switch to the Workshop tab to experiment with your new border.
