Blueprint: How to Import or Create Subjects from a CSV in BluePrint
The information below walks through steps for importing subjects from a CSV of data. Subjects can always be added manually by clicking on the New Subject button the subjects tab within a job
Import Subject Data
If you have Import subjects after job creation selected, you will then be prompted to import the subject data after the job creation steps
If you did not have that checkbox selected, Import can be found on the job within the Tools menu
Select the Import Type (typically Data File if you're using a CSV)
Navigate to the location of the CSV of subject data
Merge and Override subject data
Select merge if the subjects are listed on multiple lines or if subject information needs to be overridden with new information from the CSV
Select override data if subject data is being updated with new information from the CSV
Click Continue
Match Columns to Subject Data
On this page, select a Unique field(s) to tell the software which information to use to create the subject records. Blueprint will automatically match fields that match to fields available in blueprint
If there are group images, select a Group to be used for the subjects - this should be the way group images will be associated
Import Images
If there is image information (JPG or PNG) listed in the spreadsheet for your subject records, the images can be imported and associated with the subject records as they're created
Select the Data Format for the images
Single Image - if there's a single column of images associated with the subjects
Multiple Image with Separator - if there are multiple images per subject but the images are listed in a single cell in the csv separted by a semicolon or pipe
Start/End Image - if the image columns are listed next to one another in the csv with a clear start and end column
Number of Images -
Choose the Directory location for the images
Click Continue
The following page will give details of the import
Select Import when ready
